According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

In October, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
